My family and I had the misfortune to choose The Racecourse for dinner last night and had one of the worst experiences of my life.

Our visit began with us standing by the wait here to be seated sign whilst two staff members chatted to each other and completely ignored us, another staff member walked towards us and instead of speaking to us went to join the other two staff members.

When I questioned this, I was told that one was working on the bar and the other was new - this does not excuse the fact that we were not even acknowledged.

The food I ordered was sent out burnt (in the case of the ribs) and overcooked in the case of the sweetcorn. The ribs were also overcooked and not particularly pleasant and when I told the waitress who cleared our table about it, She said that she would "tell the kitchen" As they sent them out burnt, I didn't think that they would care a great deal.

It was a great shame and spoilt the evening for us, along with the lack of vegetarian gravy on the carvery and the general air of apathy from all the staff.
